Welcome to Prairie Lily A
rts. About this simple girl? I play with words. I sing and dance with giggly little treasures. I snap a gazillion pictures. ...And I believe in holding hands.
I am a freelance writer, editor, photographer, book and curriculum reviewer, Kindermusik educator, a part of the innovative crew at Gravitas Publications, Inc. and homeschool mom to two vivacious little men in North Georgia. We love having one foot in downtown Atlanta and one foot in the mountains. On a clear day, I can see the southernmost profile of the Blue Ridge chain while drinking in the sound of our creek rushing over granite shoals.
So Georgia's not quite what comes to mind when one conjures a prairie? Part country, part small-town girl, I've spent more than half my life in the Midwest. It is simply home. My heart experiences a joy, a contentment, a thirst for life not quite matched anywhere else. I have taken much pleasure in experiencing life in other regions of our country and have truly come to love these North Georgia mountains... their rugged terrain, tumbling waterfalls and cool, glistening brooks. Yet when I return to the prairie, it is with the embrace of an old friend. In the rush of a moment I am reminded with each one of my senses of that which is familiar and cherished. The quiet longing for open, untamed space, broken only by the horizon, is met with a sigh of appreciation and contentment. The prairie is not an isolated part of who I am, but the interwoven thread of my being... as the weft is to the warp.
My desire is for you to find in Prairie Lily Arts a sense of home, joy, passion and virtue... as you stroll with me through tall grass.
